Falling Sky: The Gallic Revolt Against Caesar is a historical board game designed by Volko Ruhnke and published by GMT Games. It is part of the COIN (Counterinsurgency) series of games, which focuses on asymmetrical conflict and historical periods of insurgency and counterinsurgency.

In Falling Sky, players take on the roles of different factions involved in the Gallic Revolt against Julius Caesar’s Roman forces during the late Roman Republic era. The game allows players to experience the military, political, and cultural dynamics of the conflict.

The game features a strategic map depicting the Gaul region and surrounding territories, divided into provinces and regions with various strategic locations. Players control different factions, including the Roman forces, the Gallic tribes, the Aedui allies, and the Germanic tribes.

The gameplay revolves around managing resources, conducting military operations, and negotiating alliances. Each faction has its own unique abilities, strategies, and victory conditions. The Roman player focuses on pacifying the region and maintaining control, while the Gallic factions aim to drive out the Romans and establish their independence.

The game incorporates a card-driven system, where players use cards to activate and conduct various actions such as recruitment, movement, battles, diplomacy, and special events. The cards also represent historical events and shifting circumstances, adding uncertainty and historical flavor to the gameplay.
