🌊 Game Overview
Players: 2–6
Playtime: Approximately 30 minutes
Recommended Age: 8 and up
Mechanics: Push-your-luck, pick-up-and-deliver, shared resource management
Components: 48 treasure chips, 6 explorer pieces, 2 custom dice (numbered 1–3), 1 submarine board, 1 air marker
🧭 Theme and Objective
In Deep Sea Adventure, players take on the roles of treasure-hunting explorers venturing into the depths of the ocean. The twist? All players share a single, limited oxygen supply aboard a dilapidated submarine. The goal is to collect valuable treasures from the sea floor and return to the submarine before the oxygen runs out. Over three rounds, players aim to accumulate the highest total treasure value to win the game.
⚙️ Gameplay Mechanics
Each round unfolds as follows:
Oxygen Consumption: At the start of a player’s turn, the shared oxygen level decreases by the number of treasure chips the player is carrying.
Movement Decision: Players decide whether to continue diving deeper or to turn back toward the submarine. Once a player turns back, they cannot change direction again during that round
Dice Roll and Movement: Players roll two dice (each numbered 1–3) and move their explorer piece accordingly along the treasure path.
Treasure Interaction: Upon landing on a space, players can choose to pick up a treasure chip, which slows their movement and increases oxygen consumption, or do nothing.
The round ends when all players have returned to the submarine or when the oxygen supply is depleted. Players who make it back successfully keep their collected treasures; those who don’t must drop their treasures, which then stack at the end of the path, becoming more tempting in subsequent rounds.
🎨 Design and Components
True to Oink Games’ signature style, Deep Sea Adventure comes in a minimalist, pocket-sized box. Despite its small size, the game includes high-quality components: colorful explorer pieces, sturdy treasure chips, and custom dice. The compact design makes it ideal for travel and quick setup.

🎲 Player Experience
The game’s core tension arises from the shared oxygen supply. Players must balance their greed for treasure with the risk of depleting oxygen, potentially dooming themselves and others. This dynamic fosters both competition and subtle cooperation, as players’ decisions directly impact one another. The simple rules and quick playtime make it accessible to a wide audience, from families to seasoned gamers looking for a light filler game.
